Rainy Day

This painting is mixed media on wood.  There are a couple of layers of rice paper and some molding paste underneath the paint.  This allowed me to paint and spray until I got the effect I was looking for.

Tall Forest Tangle

This painting is inspired by a beautiful photo that I am obssessed with.  I love the light coming in.  One of my first oil paintings.  I like the medium very much.  More to come...

Wolfgang's Forest

A painting I started in a class with Doug Swinton.  I overworked it, covered the canvas with rice paper and started again.  Based on a photo that I borrowed from a fellow painter (Wolfgang).  Plan to do this again on a long panel.  Mixed media on canvas.  8 by 10.

Toby

My first painting and probably my favorite. This is Toby, my daughter's much loved chihuahua. He has quite a personality. For the longest time I kept thinking to 'fix' the right eye because it's so wonky. But I never did. It just suits him!

Winter 2012

Winter is beautiful here in the Columbia Valley. Cross country skiing at Panorama inspired this painting this year. And a few more (to come...)
